The European Business Service Alliance finds it very positive, that the European Parliament today voted for the agreement reached in negotiations with the Council on proportionality tests. The proposal formed part of the Single Marked Strategy and is an important step towards a real single market for professions and the services performed by them.
EBSA regrets that the ambitions from the Commission’s proposal have been reduced, but still welcomes the text as an important step in the right direction. Particularly EBSA supports the agreement found on the obligation to conduct a public consultation with all parties concerned before introducing arrangements limiting access to regulated professions.
EBSA is looking forward to seeing the adoption of the notification procedures proposal as well, as these two proposals are complementary, and together they will ensure transparency in the single market for services.
